As from the second half of 2016, KU Leuven will house a brand new Tier-1 supercomputer, delivered by NEC.
With a capacity of more than 600 Tflop/s, the computer will be one of the 150 largest and fastest computers in the world. This is more than 3 times the capacity of the current four year old Tier 1. Full specifications of the machine will be published soon. Keep an eye on this site to find out.
Funding for the new infrastructure is provided by the Flemish Minister for Science and Innovation.
